What is the difference between Outside Coating options?

All printed products require selection of coating.

Please note that your choice of coating or lamination may affect the final color of the finished product.

Film Lamination forms a protective coating over a printed product.

Gloss Film Laminate provides a shiny finish that enhances printed graphics. Gloss lamination reflects light to yield brighter colors and black shades that are a rich depth.

Matte is a flat-satin dull finish that lends a subtle elegance and black shades that are of slightly less depth. Matte is available in 3 styles:
Matte Film Laminate is standard matte. It can be prone to ‘marking’ by scratching or scuffing if your product is going to be handled often.
Scuff Resistant Matte Film Laminate adds increased resistance to ‘marking’ if your product is going to be handled often.
Velvet Matte Film Laminate has a sophisticated ‘soft-touch’ feel with an appealing tactile quality.

Aqueous Coating is a clear liquid press coating that is only available with specific quantities of certain products. Please note that corrugated, turned-edge, & double-thick products with aqueous coating may crack on folds/scores.

UV Coating is a liquid coating typically available in Gloss or Matte that is only available with certain products. Please note that any product with UV Coating on the folds may show cracking in the UV on folds/scores.
